I became a yoga teacher because of an epiphany I had one day after a typically wonderful session led by my friend Allie. I was is savasana, and I thought to myself, 'Everyone in the world needs to do yoga.'

At that point in my life, 51 and about to become a new grandmother, studying yoga teacher was the last thing I thought I'd attempt. But there it was, a most unlikely decision, patting my head as though it had been with me all along.

I was Introduced to yoga and mediation as a teenager, and I thought stretching was too hard, balancing on one foot was dumb, and meditation was for The Beatles. Then I became a professional actor, and I found that yoga was great for keeping me calm, in shape, and, well, calm. Later, I turned my creative attention to music, and I brought yoga along with me everywhere; into the recording studio, on tour, backstage before performances, and into my daily music and songwriting regime.

Currently, I practice yoga several days a week in my home studio. I'm always surprised by how much there is to learn, and one of my favourite things to do is to share what I learn with others. I love teaching yoga, in classes, or integrating yoga at corporate and cultural events, bringing yoga into creativity workshops, and teaching privately. In workshops and in private sessions, I integrate the Alexander Technique (postural body mind awareness) with yoga and mindfulness. I specialize in creative wellness, working with everyone, from artists and musicians, to athletes and the elderly, to help them tap into the art of yoga in their daily lives.

Linda was introduced to the ancient wisdom tradition of yoga as a teenager, and regular moderate practice has helped her maintain strength and balance through a long career as a musician, theatre artist, and educator. Before becoming a full time musician, and for over a decade, Linda was a theatre artist, an acting coach, and created and led drama classes and workshops for children, teachers, and for professional organizations and corporations. She is trained and taught the Alexander Technique and brings this body mind awareness principle to her teaching of yoga. A dedicated yoga practitioner, Linda offers classes in Hatha, Vinyasa, and private yoga instruction in Muskoka.
